The Evolve Fight Team’s Jake Butler Returns to Action at ONE FC: WAR OF DRAGONS

The Evolve Fight Team’s Jake Butler will return to the ONE FC cage on July 11, 2014. Fighting in the light heavyweight division, Jake will be facing Egyptian Top Team’s Mohamed Ali at ONE FC: War of Dragons.

An NCAA Division 1 wrestler, Jake has over 20 years of wrestling experience. He has competed in many prestigious wrestling tournaments such as the NCAA Division 1 National Wrestling Championship, the Olympic Qualifiers, and the US Open. One of the top light heavyweights in the division, Jake is considered to be one of the most decorated wrestlers competing in ONE FC. While training at Evolve MMA, he has worked hard to round out his mixed martial arts game, training relentlessly with the renowned Evolve Muay Thai, BJJ, and MMA World Champions.

Rich Franklin Teaches Us How to Lose

Rich “Ace” Franklin is a true mixed martial arts legend and the former UFC Middleweight World Champion. Over the years, he has become a familiar face at Evolve MMA, holding two training camps with the Evolve Fight Team and its World Champion instructors. Recently, Rich was introduced as the new Vice President of ONE FC.

Growing up, Franklin had dreams of playing American football in college, but ultimately decided to continue with his karate practice. Eventually, he moved on to submission fighting, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, and ultimately into the MMA legend that we know him as today.

What most people don’t know about Rich Franklin, is that before becoming a professional MMA fighter, he was a high school mathematics teacher. He currently works with children through the Keep It In The Ring Foundation, an after school martial arts and life skills program that focuses on character building and nonviolence for the youth.

In this recent TEDxUChicago speech, Franklin teaches the audience the importance of dealing with defeat and moving forward. After his crushing loss via TKO to Anderson Silva at UFC 77, Franklin felt hopeless. It was during this time that he discovered the meaning of being an “effective loser” and how to rise from failure - a significant lesson that he had to learn the hard way. By having this mindset, Franklin was able to successfully redeem himself and bounce back with a TKO win over Travis Lutter at UFC 88.

Losing is something that we all must deal with at some point in our lives. However, it is the way that we react to defeat that makes all the difference. Without defeat, we may never learn from our mistakes, causing us to remain stagnant and unable to adapt to change.

By overcoming defeat, we open ourselves up to new experiences, which allow us to prepare wisely for the future. We start to realize the mistakes we have done in the past, and it is up to us to prevent them from happening again. Rich Franklin’s experience is proof that losing should never be a hindrance; it is a chance to harness your warrior spirit and learn from your mistakes.

The Evolve Fight Team’s Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichok Wins MMA Debut!

Please join us in congratulating the Evolve Fight Team’s Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichok on his impressive TKO victory over the weekend at ONE FC: Era of Champions. Although a 3 time Muay Thai World Champion with over 280 wins to his name, this marked Dejdamrong’s first foray into MMA. He is undoubtedly one of the most decorated strikers to ever crossover into MMA, and at ONE FC: Era of Champions he put on a beautiful display of technical Muay Thai striking. With the dominant win, Dejdamrong has quickly established himself as one of the flyweight division’s top prospects.

The Evolve Fight Team’s Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichok Ready for MMA Debut!

Get ready fight fans, this Saturday night June 14^that ONE FC: Era of Champions, one of the most decorated Muay Thai fighters to ever transition into MMA will make his ONE FC debut. The Evolve Fight Team’s Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichok, better known as Kru Rong among the Evolve Family, is a 3 time Lumpinee Muay Thai World Champion with over 350 professional fights to his name. For the past six months he has been training full time with the Evolve Fight Team to round out his mixed martial arts game, and on Saturday night he will put his training to the test.

ONE FC: Honor & Glory Tonight!

It is officially ONE FC: Honor & Glory fight day! The weigh-ins went down last night in front of a packed house of screaming fans, and the fighters are now ready to rock the Singapore Indoor Stadium tonight. Let’s show our full support for the Evolve Fight Team’s Eddie Ng, Ben Askren, Bruno Pucci, and Radeem Rahman as they go to battle tonight representing the entire Evolve Family.

If you don’t have tickets to see the event live, you can tune in on Star Sports television to catch all of the action. For those without access to Star Sports, the event will also be available via live streaming at www.onefc.livesport.tv. The first fight is scheduled to start at 7PM.

The newest addition to the Evolve Fight Team, Ben Askren, is all set to make his highly anticipated ONE FC debut on May 30^th at ONE FC: Honor & Glory. Ben arrives to ONE FC having already established himself as one of the world’s top welterweight fighters. The former US Olympic wrestler and Bellator World Champion will put his perfect 12-0 record on the line against the very dangerous Bakhtiyar Abbasov. Abbasov is a former Combat Sambo World Champion and holds a professional MMA record of 11-2. This is a ONE FC super fight that you definitely do not want to miss!
